[Purpose/significance] Library value assessment has become a hot issue. Assessing spaces economic value could verify the significant contribution of library spaces to research and learning of faculty and students in academic libraries. The research results could provide reference for decision of library spaces transformation.[Method/process] Combined with literature review and consumer surplus, economic value of different spaces and services in academic libraries are calculated.[Result/conclusion] The annual economic value of library spaces is 25.19 million RMB. A carefully analysis of spaces types and spaces services and appropriate market substitutes should be noted in spaces economic value assessment.
