[Purpose/significance] Through the collation and analysis of foreign children's reading related literature, it will provide a useful reference for the research and popularization of children's reading in China.[Method/process] The paper uses the method of literature research to collect and organize the overseas research achievements related to children's reading since 1980s, to make concrete analysis about the research contents, methods and characteristics of children's reading from the vision of interdisciplinary field.[Result/conclusion] It is found that as follows:firstly, reading research of children, as the common concern of physiology, psychology, sociology, pedagogy and library science, has made many achievements abroad; secondly, although there are distinction between these disciplines from research perspective, object, content and methods, they also have the subject intersection in research orientation and research themes.
