Empirical Study on the Typical Domestic Library Consortium Status and Developing Strategies

[Purpose/significance] This paper studies on the construction aim, actual operating status and the future development of eight domestic regional cross-system library consortium, analyzes the development status and trend summary, and puts forward countermeasures and suggestions. [Method/process] Through the Website research, literature research, face to face interviews and other research ways, it obtains detailed data on the development of consortiums.[Result/conclusion] Studies show that: library consortiums achieve the alliance's basic goal of building resource sharing. There are some common problems such as the significant impact on the funding of the development of the alliance, university libraries' lack of enthusiasm, and the members of alliance failing to achieve complementary advantages. It further points out that we should strengthen policy guidance to standardize service processes; accumulate consortium advantages through the characteristics of resource development and services; carry out diversified cooperation projects to enhance alliance cohesion and promote "big network + small core" regional alliances to promote common development alliance countermeasures.
