[Purpose/significance] The use of social tagging to mark the movie resources has become a new way under the new network environment to organize movie resources; meanwhile constructing the movie resources ontology has practical significance to regulate the movie filed tag semantics and improve the movie resources retrieval efficiency.[Method/process] For the current existing problems of movie resources ontology construction method and the building processes, the idea of using social tagging to build the movie resources ontology is proposed. Based on the deep analysis of movie tags and movie resources ontology mapping relationship, a movie resources ontology construction method based on social tagging is proposed and the detailed building process of the movie resources ontology is elaborated with it.[Result/conclusion] Finally, a movie resources ontology is constructed by using the Douban Movie tag data sets, and the scientific and superiority of the proposed method is verified.
