[Purpose/significance] Previous studies have revealed that many medical professionals had used mobile apps to find medical information. However, the quality of these apps has not been reviewed yet.[Method/process] This study searches iOS App Store, Google Play and Hiapk Market using the terms "asthma", "lung function", "peak flow" and "inhaler". The apps are downloaded for systematic assessment using criteria derived from the UK BTS/SIGN, USA EPR-3, international GINA and HONcode guidelines.[Result/conclusion] The results reveal that some of the apps and guideline contents are inconsistent and may lead to inappropriate treatments. This study also highlights that app inventers should consider improvement in developing health related apps. Medical professionals should not use these apps for their practice.
