Abstract

[Purpose/significance] This paper compares user seeking behavior when they use WAP and APP to access the mobile library in order to reveal users' searching behavior and give references to improve the service of the mobile library.[Method/process] For this purpose, this paper did statistic analysis on the search session, query, high frequency keywords and search methods, etc. by using the mobile library log from some university libraries' OPAC system.[Result/conclusion] The findings indicate that more users use WAP to access the mobile library. When they use APP to search the mobile library, their queries are less during a search session, and the time is shorter. Chinese keywords they frequently use belong to mathematics, economics, management, sociology and so on. The simple search is the most commonly method users choose, but they are more likely to change search methods when they use WAP accessing the mobile library.
