Study and Recommendations on Scientific Data Management Service Practice in Universities

[Purpose/significance] The aim of this paper is to provide specific advice for universities in China to carry out research data management service by exploring the elements of scientific data management practice abroad.[Method/process] On the basis of the introduction of the concept of scientific data management,the article introduces the characteristics of scientific data management in university. After reviewing the successful cases of research data management in foreign universities, it summarizes the elements of scientific data management practice in university, including the policy development, infrastructure, service items, stakeholders and funding model.[Result/conclusion] Finally, on the basis of the elements of research data management practice and the current situation of research data management service development in China, the article proposes specific advice and measures on how to implement scientific data management service.
