[Purpose/significance] Despite the gradual silence of other ERMS and the emergence of the next generation of the library service platform, the open source electronic resource management system CORAL has been recognized and applied by many libraries abroad. This paper analyzes the function and product characteristics of CORAL, hoping to arouse the attention of domestic libraries.[Method/process] First of all, the development of ERMS and open source ERMS were reviewed. Then, this paper introduced the functional modules, application, development status and technical characteristics of CORAL. Finally, the author put forward some suggestions on the solution of electronic resources management and the introduction of CORAL in domestic libraries.[Result/conclusion] CORAL has several advantages such as open source, free and so on. It also supports library workflows and industry standards, supports the personalized configuration, and supports the modular deployment of library task. Therefore, it is very worthy for domestic libraries to consider the implementation of CORAL.
