Abstract

[Purpose/significance] Foreign students is a special group patrons of academic libraries, and they are the important targeted users of library outreach services.[Method/process] This paper investigates and analyzes some research and practice on outreach services for foreign students of overseas academic libraries.[Result/conclusion] Abroad relevant research pays much attention to the cases and data. There are different focuses of the study on different level of foreign students. Comparative analysis, scientific research methods and the impact of social media are all highly valued. The research and practice on outreach services for foreign students should get more attention. Emphasizing multiple cooperation and the capability of internationalized service, outreach services for foreign students tend to be more detailed, diversified and individualized.
