Abstract

[Purpose/significance] In the network environment, network academic information resources play a more important role in scientific research. This study will research scientific researchers' behavior characteristics and rationality, the selection and evaluation of academic information during their network academic information searching process, which will build the foundations for the further research of users' information behavior.[Method/process] The study used a personalized experimental design in different network academic information search task situations. The participants were required to think aloud. Then, the content of the experimental text was extracted and analyzed by the grounded theory method. The study compared and analyzed the judgment standard and influential factors of scientific research information users' network academic information searching process from different tasks by the content analysis results. It also discussed and analyzed academic information searching behavior's rationality and its root.[Result/conclusion] It is found that:the selection and evaluation of scientific researchers' network academic information searching are the comprehensive result of multi-dimensions and multi-factors, and there are generalities and differences; the task situation is the key condition variable in the process of building the users' mental model and constructing the meaning of the network academic information; in the network environment, the academic users' network information searching behavior and searching process have bounded rationality, and the task situation is the key driving factor of the bounded rational behavior.
