Abstract

[Purpose/significance] In the context of aging society and information society at the same time, studying the elderly's Internet usage can provide theoretical foundation for the development of the elderly service industry, and can provide valuable suggestions for the improvement of the elderly's life quality.[Method/process] This paper has reviewed the benefits and influence factors of the older adults' Internet-based service usage behavior, based on the classification of the Internet service contents.[Result/conclusion] Internet-based service usage can improve well-being, decrease loneliness, strengthen sense of community and improve cognitive functions for old adults to some extents. In terms of motivation and acceptance factors, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, self-efficacy and outcome expectation have influence on the will and behavior. The future study can focus on providing the Internet-based service satisfying the needs of old adults, analyzing the value of specific Internet usage to older people, tapping specific Internet influencing factors for the old, and exploring how the new Internet environment promotes the use of network services for the elderly, and form targeted theoretical innovation and recommendations.
