Research on the Standard Framework of the Quality and the Content Evaluation of Online Health Information from Users' Perspective

Abstract

[Purpose/significance] The paper aims toevaluate the quality of online health information fromusers' perspective, and construct an evaluation standard framework accordingly.[Method/process] This paper used the combined method of the experimental method and the semi-structural interview method to build an online health information quality evaluation framework from users' perspective. Then, a quantitative analysis was conducted by using a questionnaire to validate and modify it. Three health websites wereselected as subjects. Young users and quinquagenarian users wereselected as samples. [Result/conclusion] This study puts forward a framework including 2 primary indicators,7 secondary indicators and 7 third indicators.Furthermore, it isfound out that different gendersand age groups have different criteria for the quality evaluation of online health information. The conclusion part of this thesis summarizes some implications and suggestions for the quality development of online health information from perspectives of the health website itself, the ordinary consumers, online health information supervision institutions and medical workers.
