[Purpose/significance] This paper aims to investigate the correlation between university students' utilization of library services and their academic achievements.[Method/process] The utilization of library services and academic records of 622 undergraduates in Capital Medical University were statistically analyzed with the t test, chi square test, rank sum test and correlation analysis.[Result/conclusion] There is positive correlation between students' utilization of library services and their achievements. There were statistically significant major, gender and semester differences in the utilization of library services. The study suggests the libraries' resources and services need to be adjusted and disposed according to the characteristics of different majors, genders and learning stages to more effectively serve the users.
