Abstract

[Purpose/significance]ALI has important reference to the construction of unified and standardized open metadata elements in China, at the same time, eliminate the author's copyright concerns and balance the interests of all parties, and promotes the standardized development of open access movement in China.[Method/process]It introduces the background, content and application of the implementing practice which is recommended by NISO, as well as its role and impact in the open access information exchange model.[Result/conclusion]ALI, as a complete set of standardized metadata, provides a visual identification of open access resources, enabling users to keep abreast of the openness and re-use of a particular content in a timely manner to achieve a balance of rights and interests among the publishers, authors, and end users, to avoid the current chaos on this issue that may lead to legal risks.ALI has been recognized and applied in open access resources, and has played an active role in the sustainable development of open resources.
