Application of Quantitative Self Technology in the Library

Abstract

[Purpose/significance] The paper studies the practical significance and development model of self-quantified technology in library, which enables libraries to provide self-quantified technical environments to users, improve the user's personal perception, and also expand the library service and management mode. [Method/process] Through the investigation of the application status of self-quantified technology in various fields at home and abroad, it points out the significance of self-quantified technology in library field. On the basis of discriminating quantified self and traditional library service concept, it establishes a library service and management system and identifies users' self-quantified data that can be used in the library and the field of library application data. [Result/conclusion] It puts forward the service and management model of self-quantified technology in library and the key technology of quantitative users' behavioral data. Libraries can establish a self-quantified system by tracking the user's digital footprint, establishing an optimal reading directory, etc. There are still some problems to be solved in the application of quantitative self in library, including access to data, portability of data, security of users' information, and responsibility for the negative impact. It requires a trusting relationship and a well-developed law.
