[Purpose/significance] By deeply exploring and studying the reading thoughts of Xi Jinping, this paper aims at grasping the ideological essence and value related to reading, and then influencing and promoting the construction and development of a reading and learning society.[Method/process] According to Xi Jinping's series of important statements on reading, we combined with his long-term reading experience, and systematically studied and explained the reading thoughts from the three basic questions about reading that are widely concerned:why to read, how to read and what to read.[Result/conclusion] The analysis and grasp of Xi Jinping's reading thoughts are of great significance for the development of national reading activities and the promotion of reading activities.
