[Purpose/significance] The business information service of the national library is studied from the perspective of national innovation capacity building, to explore its roles in supporting the national innovation development.[Method/process] With the methods of literature survey, internet survey, case analysis and interview, firstly the information service demand driven by the national innovation capacity building was analysed based on the national innovation ability evaluation system, econdly the business information service model of the British library for promoting the national innovation capacity building was analysed, then the related practice progress of the national library of China was investigated, finally, the business information service strategy of the Chinese National library was is put forward.[Result/conclusion] The business information service strategies of the national library of China to support the national innovation capacity building include making the study on the service model of enterprise starting and innovation knowledge center, exploring the business information service model in supporting the enterprise starting and innovation, and promoting the information service model of supporting the local innovation development.
