[Purpose/significance] Space is becoming the most valuable asset of academic libraries. Library space is an important place to support university users' learning and scientific research, which is also a strategic development direction of academic libraries in future. The paper studies the design flow and implementation strategy of library space project, to provide reference and guidance for the construction of learning space in university libraries.[Method/process] Based on literature review and case study, this paper focus on the design process and implementation of library space project, devided the process into six steps:planning, demand collection and analysis, concept design, space elements design, service design and space evaluation. The pape rexplained the key points of process, and provided the specific implementation in peoject and best practices.[Result/conclusion] Five tactics can be used in the implementation of library space project:keep user-centered design, integration with the strategic of the university, keep spatial flexibility, make spatial and service integration, and cooperate with campus partners.
