[Purpose/significance] America Core Competencies for Electronic Resources Librarians is a relevant standard specially formulated for the management and working ability of electronic resource librarians. The content covers the whole life cycle of electronic resource management skills and knowledge. The research on its content and practical application is of great significance to the implementation of high-level electronic resource management in China.[Method/process] Firstly, the content of America Core Competencies for Electronic Resources Librarians was analyzed. Then this paper introduced and analyzed its application mode and effect in student professional training, library organization reorganization, library staff continuing education, library department and individual work evaluation, library service platform migration and process reorganization.[Result/conclusion] The Core Competencies for Electronic Resources Librarians can play a role in many fields of the library, and the library needs to be flexible to apply it with the actual situation of the library in order to support the in-depth development of the field of electronic resources managementand cultivation of talents, so as to better deal with the dynamic development environment of the library.
