[Purpose/significance] From the perspective of digital humanities, this paper aims to realize the rational description of ancient buildings, and promote the protection and utilization of ancient buildings. [Method/process] This paper analyzed the existing resource organization methods, and took the Shichahai region as an example, based on the characteristics of the ancient buildings in the region and digital resources, by reusing existing metadata standards and ontology, combined with the custom entities and attributes, from the relationships between the ancient buildings and other entities and the character descriptions of ancient buildings to design ancient buildings description model. Information organization tools such as vocabularies were used to enrich the model. [Result/conclusion] Through the design of the model, the three-dimensional and multi-angle description of the ancient buildings in this region can be realized, as well as the integration of the ancient buildings and related objects, so as to improve the knowledge service ability related to ancient buildings.
