[Purpose/significance] In order to provide ideas for intellectual property information service of university libraries, intellectual property information service of university libraries was studied from the perspective of WeChat service. [Method/process] The WeChat services of 86 university libraries which have independently established intellectual property information service centers were investigated. Five dimensions were analyzed such as the publication time, signature, service column, reading numbers and content of WeChat articles. [Result/conclusion] The intellectual property information service is in a period of vigorous development. The planning and management system is improving day by day. Team construction has achieved initial success. The service content is expanded and deepened. However, we should still take the express train of the establishment and development of "National Intellectual Property Information Service Center of Universities", to strengthen the top-level design and alliance construction, optimize the service mode and content, promote the establishment of assessment and evaluation system, and carry out reasonable planning and effective implementation. Only in these ways the intellectual property information service can be sustainable developed.
