[Purpose/significance] The concept definition and connotation deconstruction is the basis of theoretical research and practical exploration of smart library.[Method/process] By the method of content analysis, this paper firstly selected representative concepts in the field of smart library at home and abroad, extracted the frequency of "words" appearing in concepts, and obtained words that can represent the key characteristics of smart libraries, Then, it analyzed the common characteristics of smart construction concepts, such as smart cities, smart campuses, and smart museums. Finally, combined with the above analysis results, the connotation characteristics and cognitive model of the smart library were abstracted and defined.[Result/conclusion] Based on the essence of smart library, the concept of smart library was scientifically defined, and the PTP cognitive model of smart library system architecture was put forward, which clarifies the goal and path of smart library construction, and lays a theoretical foundation for the further research and development of smart library.
