[Purpose/significance] This paper summarizes the practice of fake news governance of academic libraries and provides the reference for outreach service.[Method/process] First, through literature review, the paper sort out the social value, practice types and governance strategies of libraries in fake news governance. Then, through the internet investigation of 13 university libraries, the paper summarized the practice model of university libraries participating in fake news governance from three aspects:fake news resource construction, information literacy education, and fake news identification methods.[Result/conclusion] The breadth and depth of participating in false news governance is a manifestation of the social value of the library. A three-dimensional false news governance system can be established from resources, services and ecology, and fake news governance capabilities can be strengthened from four aspects:organizational structure, resource service capabilities, library association and librarian capabilities.
