Research on the Formation Mechanism of the Discontinuation Behavior in Network Health Information Search

Abstract

[Purpose/significance] This paper deeply discusses the action mechanism of task, situation and emotional factors on the network health information search discontinuation behavior in complex network environment, and forms the mechanism of users' behavior guidance and system intervention to promote the effective acquisition of users' health information. [Method/process] Based on the theory of SSO, this paper proposed a conceptual framework of the formation mechanism of the health information search discontinuation behavior, and carried out empirical research through searching experiments and questionnaires to reveal the important influence of task complexity, task importance, time urgency and sentiment on the search discontinuation behavior. [Result/conclusion] This study shows that sentiment plays a completely mediating role in the triggering of task complexity and time urgency on the discontinuation behavior of health information search, task importance directly affects the discontinuation behavior of health information search, and the effect of sentiment on the discontinuation behavior is greater than task importance. It provides some behavior guidance to health information search users and some design ideas of the intervention mechanism for the health care platform.
