Research on Open Sharing Cooperation from the Perspective of Open Access Journals: A Case Study of Citing Papers in Plos One

Abstract

[Purpose/significance] From the perspective of open access journal papers, the paper reveals the characteristics of open sharing cooperation behaviors, so as to promote cross-institutional and interdisciplinary cooperation of researchers and the practical development of the open sharing movement.[Method/process] Based on the citing papers of the top 100 cited papers in Plos One, this paper used citation analysis method and social network analysis method to reveal the characteristics of cooperation contents and the relationship of citing paper networks in Plos One.[Result/conclusion] Both the number of open sharing cooperation resultsand the cooperation rate in Plos One are increasing year by year, and features of multi-disciplinary and cross-institutional cooperation are significant. The cooperation contents focus on the biological environment and other natural science fields, while social science and humanities and art research are relatively few, and interdisciplinary cooperation research exist. The author cooperative relationship networks are characterized by multi-center and weak connection. The institutional cooperative relationship networks have formed a cooperative mode that scientific research institutes and universities as the core and government institutions and enterprises as the cooperative participants. The discipline cooperation networks have the characteristics of environmental adaptability and disciplinary inclusiveness, and the degree of cooperation and the correlation among the core disciplines are strong.
