A Touch of the Best: Practice of Course-Embedded Ideological and Political Education (CIPE) in Nankai University (NKU)

Abstract

[Purpose/significance] This article addresses the core ideas of CIPE. It discusses the relevance between CIPE and core values of NKU. [Method/process] Taking CIPE practice in the education of library and information science of NKU as an example, the article summarizes the different paths to the realization of CIPE, including the paths of general education, professional education, and social practice education. [Result/conclusion] General education integrates CIPE into a series of Service Learning Courses (2.0 version). Professional education embeds the elements of CIPE to the different parts of teaching. Social practice education also achieves the goal of CIPE through the social practice of teachers and students in summer break. The article describes the different approaches to achieving the goals of CIPE. It can provide practical guidance for the construction of CIPE in higher education.
