[Purpose/significance] To explore and discuss the space layout reconstruction of university libraries from the perspective of all-round education. [Method/process] Through the analysis of the demise of the library, the paper clarified the existential value of the physical library as place, analyzed the types of space and the changes of the design concept of university libraries, emphasized the educational function of library space as place, and took the space reconstruction of Peking University Library as an example to demonstrate the power of education of university library as place. [Result/conclusion] Teaching and educating students is the basic function of university education, serving students in teaching and learning is the major responsibility of a library. It is an important issue for university libraries needs to explore in the digital era to reconstruct library space and make it a powerful educational force.
