[Purpose/Significance] This is the first systematic description and overall evaluation of the emergence, development and evolution of the Chinese librarians’ alliance in North America, which deeply reveals and accurately judges the identity and function of the alliance in the development of the global library and the construction of overseas Chinese society. [Method/Process] The formation process, structural evolution and strategic direction of the Chinese librarians’ alliance in North America were sorted out comprehensively. This paper focused on the background, process and impact of the formation of organizations such as the Council on East Asian Libraries, the Chinese American Librarians Association, and the Society for Chinese Studies Librarians, and analyzed the strategic significance of the cooperative alliance organizations of the China-US academic libraries alliance organizations in the era. [Result/Conclusion] The Chinese librarians’ alliance in North America has gone through the development stages of beginning, maturity, and deepening, moving from an early scattered group to a regional association, to a high-level qualitative change in the membership structure, to the creation of a deeply integrated professional model, and finally to a transnational alliance with the Chinese library community, building a strategic pattern of internal and external synergy and two-way win-win.
