[Purpose/Significance] The transtheoretical model is widely used in health behavior change research. This paper reviews the evolution of the transtheoretical model and related human information behavior research in order to better understand the association and influence mechanisms of information behaviors in health behavior promotion. [Method/Process] This paper used literature analysis to review the development of the transtheoretical model, focusing on its relevance to human information behaviors, and empirical studies combining the two, to initially summarize the types of information and information behaviors involved in each stage of the health behavior change process. [Result/Conclusion] This paper provides a more systematic overview of the transtheoretical model and human information behaviors to provide some reference for future exploration of the role mechanisms of information types and information behaviors in different change stages, and to help empirical research and strategy formulation.
