[Purpose/Significance] By dividing the life cycle of the digitization of TCM ancient literatures in China, the development stages and characteristics of this field are systematically reviewed to provide decision-making reference for the digital research of TCM ancient literatures oriented to digital humanities. [Method/Process] The titles of journals in this field were collected from four journal databases, the life cycle of the digitization of TCM ancient literatures was determined by the ordinary least squares and annual literature growth. And topic cluster analysis and topic evolution analysis were carried out on the relevant literatures at different stages to identify the research hotspots and evolution trends in various fields. [Result/Conclusion] This paper divides the research on the digitization of TCM ancient literatures into three stages, identifies the research subjects of each stage and the evolution path of the subjects during the different stages, and on the basis of previous studies, puts forward the development trend of the digitization of TCM ancient literatures in the future from three aspects: digital resources, technical system construction and application service direction.
