Abstract

[Purpose/Significance] This paper introduces the fourth paradigm theory of scientific research, outlines the origin and development of information resources management discipline at home and abroad, and puts forward the way to build the first level discipline of information resources management in the data science era.[Method/Process] This paper analyzed the opportunities and challenges of the rise of the fourth paradigm of scientific research to the discipline of information resources management, and explored the way to build the first level discipline of information resources management from the perspective of the fourth paradigm of scientific research.[Results/Conclusion] It is proposed to integrate data science to build a secondary discipline system of information resources management, and to welcome the digital intelligence era to edit and publish professional textbooks for the first level discipline of information resources management for reference in the construction of the first level discipline of information resources management in China.
