Research on the Construction Process and Development Direction of Smart Library: Taking Nanjing University as an Example

Abstract

[Purpose/Significance] This paper summarizes the existing achievements and practical applications of the smart library, in order to clarify that the next step of the development of smart library needs to move towards the key stage of knowledge management and service standardization. [Method/Process] First, By combing through the literature resources and cases, the development status of domestic and international smart libraries was clarified. Then taking the smart library construction of Nanjing University as an example, this paper focused on the implementation status of core projects such as robot equipment, library service platform and library smart space in the construction of smart library. Based on this, various issues that arised in the process of smart library construction were summarised. [Result/Conclusion] In the next stage of the development of smart libraries, library should focus on the maintenance of existing achievements, and continue to deepen in both intelligent technology and knowledge services. By gradually forming a new literature resource system, deepening the application of intelligent robots, and optimizing the existing service platform, universities will be provided with more complete resources and data security.
