[Purpose/Significance] This paper analyzes the development status of the preprint platform and open journals, and sorts out the development process of the preprint platform and open journals. Under the background of technological innovation and academic exchange paradigm change, the preprint platform and open journals, as open scientific exchange methods, are integrating with each other, cooperating and achieving win-win results, and forming a more open, inclusive and efficient scientific exchange ecology. [Method/Process] The collaborative development ecology of preprint platform and open journal under different scenarios was studied by case analysis, including the collaborative development ecology of preprint and open publishing in the subject field, the ecological research of preprint service promoted by publishers and the ecological research of the integration of preprint into paper database. [Result/Conclusion] Through the analysis of the collaborative development characteristics of preprint platforms and open access journals, it is observed that the participants exhibit diversity, collaboration is complementary, and the development is stable. To promote the ecological mechanism of synergistic development between preprint platform and open journals, the following strategies are put forward: relevant immediate opening policies are introduced to promote the synergistic development of preprint platform and open journals; Integrate into the academic community and paper “database” system to build an open academic exchange system; Construct national open access infrastructure and realize scientific community’s discipline-based operation; Follow international standards, improve the integration process between preprint platforms and open-access journals for seamless publication.
