[Purpose/Significance] Investigate the current situation and existing problems of intelligent library construction in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei, and provide reference for the practice of intelligent library construction in higher vocational colleges. [Method/Process] Through the questionnaire survey, website visit and telephone interview of 24 higher vocational colleges libraries under the “Double High Plan” in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei, the survey results were classified, counted and analyzed by combining quantitative analysis with qualitative analysis. [Result/Conclusion] The study finds that the construction of intelligent libraries in higher vocational colleges has started late and is entering a period of rapid growth. There are still some problems in the construction, such as the lack of top-level design of the school, the weak awareness of construction concept guidance, the inaccurate positioning of construction objectives, the low cognitive level of librarians’ knowledge of intelligent libraries, and the weak technical management force. In this paper, the corresponding countermeasures are proposed for the existing problems.
