Abstract

[Purpose/significance] The main contents and characteristics of the book Development of China's Intelligence Work in the Subversive New Era are reviewed with the aim of making readers understand the development history, opportunities and challenges, current situation and problems in China's intelligence work, and re-examine the key tasks of intelligence work with a new strategic vision in the subversive new era.[Method/Process] Mainly using the methods of induction and content analysis, the book review evaluated the significance of the book for the times, the overall contents and main characteristics of the book.[Result/Conclusion] The book is a representative work exploring the practice of the intelligence work in China. Its focus is in line with today's new situation and new pattern and its foothold is in line with the current situation and problems of China's intelligence work. It emphasizes the practical significance and application value of the research and exposition in system construction and capability building. At the same time, the book specially reminded that intelligence work is a special power, which is usually exercised in the name of the state, in this situation, it is particularly important to keep it in a proper institutional system.
