[Purpose/Significance] Considering the textual characteristics, the three types of knowledge units of farewell’s motivations, times and destinations were extracted from the farewell poems in the Complete Collection of Tang Dynasty’s Poetry and reorganized in knowledge. The temporal and spatial structure of the farewell poems in the Complete Collection of Tang Dynasty’s Poetry was visualized and analyzed, and the research conclusions are mutually confirmed by the research in the fields of history and literature, which is also helpful for relevant scholars to discover new research clues and provide reference for their research. [Method/Process] Using statistical methods and GIS tools, the data was collected, cleaned and analyzed, and the temporal and spatial structure of the farewell poem in the Complete Collection of Tang Dynasty’s Poetry was visualized. [Results/Conclusion] The finding indicates that the departure destination moved from north to south over time in Tang dynasty, which is consistent with the historical and cultural changes of the Tang Dynasty. The finding provides basis and theoretical support for the study of the farewell poems of the Complete Collection of Tang Dynasty’s Poetry in the fields of history and literature.
