[Purpose/Significance] As the knowledge center, communication center and culture center, university library in the new era needs to fully play the cultural core functions to gain greater achievements in cultural education. [Method/Process] Through literature and case analysis, this paper summarized the relevant research at home and abroad, as well as the main contents and practice of cultural education in domestic university libraries. Taking Shenyang University of Technology library as an example, the paper deeply explored the its practice in overall planning, spatial integration of resources, cultural activities and utilization of characteristic resources, and put forward the way of carrying out the cultural education in university libraries. [Result/Conclusion] The cultural education of university library should adapt to the construction and development of the university, which can represent the level of education. For the cultural inheritance and innovation, university library should give full play to cultural education, highlight the service of education, and integrate into the overall strategy of university education.
