[Purpose/Significance] Identifying discipline output hotspots is conducive to analyzing the current situation and trend of interdisciplinary development and improving the influence of the discipline.[Method/Process] The interdisciplinary citation of the papers can promote the innovation and generation of other disciplines knowledges and papers and form an "interdisciplinary driving force". However, the magnitude of interdisciplinary driving force is not exactly equal to the number of citations, while is related to the relevance of the citing and cited knowledge. Therefore, this paper adopts the orthogonal decomposition method in physics, constructs a comprehensive model of the interdisciplinary driving force of the target discipline knowledge, and identifies the hotspots of the target discipline's external output from the output intensity, breadth, acceleration and relevance of knowledge in interdisciplinary.[Result/Conclusion] This paper takes the data of library and information science (LIS) from 2017 to 2022 as an example, the results show that the model is feasible and effective. According to certain classification principles, it divides the knowledge output hotspots of this discipline into three types:frontier, stable and declining. Social concern hotspots, interdisciplinary knowledge and professional core knowledge belong to the above types respectively. Through comprehensive analysis, it finds that output hotspots in LIS focus on the related knowledge of interdisciplinary information management and analysis, but the output ability of professional core knowledge is insufficient.
