Research on the Earthquake Event Knowledge Base Construction Based on Event Ontology

Abstract

[Purpose/Significance] In response to the inadequacy of existing seismic ontologies in providing a comprehensive description of the dynamic evolution, it develops a seismic event ontology model and knowledge base based on event ontology and domain knowledge ontology in order to provide new ideas for earthquake event knowledge organization, and offer support for the emergency management. [Method/Process] First, it utilized natural language processing methods to collect and process data related to earthquake events. Second, it constructed the earthquake event ontology model and knowledge base based on event ontology and chain-typed evolution relationship of disaster events. Finally, it employed Protégé and Neo4j for knowledge retrieval and visualized analysis. [Result/Conclusion] The research findings indicate that the constructed ontology model is suitable for the representation and description of earthquake events. It can realize the knowledge reasoning, retrieval, and visualization of the earthquake knowledge base and provide the assistance and support for earthquake knowledge acquisition and earthquake emergency management.
