Implementation Path and Development Strategy of Smart Libraries in the Metaverse Era: Text Mining and Analysis Based on Library Strategic Planning

Abstract

[Purpose/Significance] This study aims to analyze the strategic layout of library undertakings during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, providing a reference basis for the construction of smart libraries in the metaverse era. [Method/Process] The 14th Five-Year Plan of the National Library of China, provincial-level public libraries, and the top 100 city public libraries were selected as research data. Network analysis was conducted on the policy basis of strategic planning, and the BERTopic model was used to analyze the smart library-related content, exploring the policy sources and thematic content of smart library construction strategies during the 14th Five-Year Plan period. Based on this, combined with the metaverse technology system, the development path of smart libraries in the metaverse era was summarized. [Result/Conclusion] The development of public libraries is highly centered on national-level policy guidance. Key development directions mainly focuses on constructing intelligent service platforms, enriching digital collection resources, and expanding smart application scenarios. Finally, the development path of smart libraries is discussed from three aspects: technology integration, service innovation, and assurance upgrade, aiming to provide reference for the future development and construction of smart libraries.
