[Purpose/Significance] Focusing on the issue of information disorder, this paper takes the “new yellow journalism” as a micro-level case study, and clarifies the internal evolution mechanism of information disorder by the intersection of information science analysis with logic, sociology and psychology. [Method/Process] By establishing an evolutionary game matrix, a system dynamics model was constructed to conduct scenario simulation and sensitivity analysis of information disorder. [Result/Conclusion] This paper draws the following conclusions. ① From specific micro-level perspective, the components of information disorder need to be expanded. Information disorder has been expanded from false information, misleading information, and malicious information to four parts: false information, misleading information, malicious information, and seductive information. ②From a meso-level perspective, information disorder is not a unidirectional linear pattern influenced by oligopoly organizations, but a nonlinear, complex, and unstable state. ③ From a macro-level perspective, by exploring the evolutionary mechanism, the direct causes, indirect causes, triggers, and catalysts of information disorder refer to profit-driven motives, information bias, media dissemination, and public participation, respectively. This provides the support for the governance of information disorder in cyberspace.
