Abstract

[Purpose/Significance] The aim is to provide strategic guidance for the construction of future learning centers in the metaverse era, further enhance service quality and reader experience, and promote the sustainable development of future learning centers. [Method/Process] This paper elaborated on the connotations and characteristics of future learning centers in the metaverse, and on this basis, further summarized the service models. By investigating the metaverse practices of 985 project university libraries, it proposed to the implementation paths for innovating service models of future learning centers in the metaverse era. [Result/Conclusion] The service model of the future learning centers in the metaverse era is summarized, including space services, resource services, consultation services, subject services, and cultural services. It proposes that the construction of the future learning centers in the metaverse should be promoted from five aspects: formulating the developing plan for meta-universe libraries, increasing the investment in technology and capital, attaching importance to the construction of librarian teams, cultivating readers’ metaverse information literacy, and paying attention to privacy security protection.
