[Purpose/Significance] Digital resources are key fundamental elements for contemporary knowledge dissemination, scientific research, economic development, and cultural heritage transmission. The long-term preservation has increasingly attracted the attention of experts, and has become the core task of various institutions and a key focus in the “15 th Five-Year Plan”. By reviewing and analyzing international strategies for the long-term preservation of digital resources and summarizing the hot topics, this study aims to provide references and insights for the digital resource preservation in China. [Method/Process] By dynamically tracking and analyzing the strategies released by multiple international core digital resource preservation institutions from 2021 to 2024, this study revealed the current development priorities in the field of long-term digital resource preservation and proposed some implications for digital preservation practices in China. [Result/Conclusion] The focus of these strategic plans is mainly centered on digital resource building, digital preservation community building and development, sustainable development and governance, infrastructure building, social responsibility and fair governance, and the application of artificial intelligence technology. It proposes the following implications for the digital preservation in China: formulating effective long-term preservation strategic plans, building a sustainable digital preservation ecosystem, establishing and using trustworthy digital resource preservation systems, promoting technological progress and innovative applications, and strengthening talent training and team building.
