Abstract

[Purpose/Significance] This paper aims to explore how the construction of digital villages affects the process of digital equity for rural residents. [Method/Process] Through a ten-year revisit field study of rural residents in Hexie Village, Anshun City, this paper analyzed the impact paths and effects of the digital object elements of digital village construction on the digital subject elements from a distribution and redistribution perspective. [Result/Conclusion] The results show that the process of digital equity of rural residents is affected by the distribution and redistribution of digital public goods, digital common resources, and digital club goods. Different digital goods affect different digital subject elements of rural residents. Digital public goods affect digital obligations, digital attitudes, and digital impacts. Digital common resources affect digital ability, digital efforts, digital social support, and digital impacts. Digital club goods affect digital ability, digital attitudes, digital social support, and digital impact. In this process, the process of digital equity affects the social mobility of rural residents through elite capture, digital rise, and digital reproduction of vulnerable sectors.
