On July 27, 2025, Library and Information Service received an official notification via email: the journal has been officially indexed in Scopus, the world’s largest abstract and citation database launched by Elsevier. This marks a significant breakthrough in the journal’s growing international influence and recognition.
Both the China and international evaluation teams of Scopus highly evaluated Library and Information Service. Their comments are quoted as follows:
“This evaluation supports that of the local board that this journal should be accepted for Scopus listing. With the journal being historically published in Chinese (but with translations offered to support readability), it is understandable that the editorial team/board as well as author contributions are China-dominated. However the content, which is well aligned with the purpose and scope of the journal, is of international relevance. This is confirmed by the journal's impressive citation performance. Each published article includes dates received and revised and this together with the average manuscript turnaround time of 131 days, are good indicators of rigor of peer review and quality management of published content. The layout and typesetting are very professional done, including the use of very impressive graphics and data visualization. The articles are research-based, well grounded in literature and consistently referenced. This journal meets the criteria for Scopus listing.
Other observations:
The journal includes articles that are academically sound and relevant to an international academic or professional audience in the field.
The journal has scholarly relevance as evidenced by citations in other journals currently covered by Scopus.
The abstracts are in keeping with Scopus English Language requirements.
In general, the content of the articles is consistent with the scope and aims of the journal.
Although the scope of this journal is narrow, it addresses the need of an important niche audience.”
